Seaweed Skinfood cream

Like another reviewer, the fragrance was off in this product. I checked and the details on the bottom of the jar are the same: batch DDPJ005 if I'm reading it correctly, exp 24/09/2025. Must be a bad batch, because this is my 4th or 5th jar I've used of this product and I noticed the fragrance and texture were different immediately after I opened the jar. Normally it has a very pleasant light rose fragrance and creamy texture that melts. Disappointed in this batch but normally it's my favourite creme!

This Seaweed face cream is a 30g pot which is quite small and narrow, I use a small skincare spatula to access the cream. You only need a small amount so this size of pot should last you for a while. It has a pleasant herbal smell and quite a rich texture. It applies nicely to the skin and absorbs within a few minutes.It contains 5 seaweed extracts, along with Rosa Damascena Flower, Rosehip oil, Vitamin E and Jojoba seed oil. All these ingredients combined offer deep hydration, softness, nourishment and protection for the skin. After using this for a few weeks, my skin is soft, hydrated, soothed and looks healthy, I did find it a little bit rich for my skin but am still enjoying using it.I like that this face cream is made from naturally derived ingredients which are full of vitamins and minerals that are beneficial for the skin. The pot and box can also be recycled, and it is cruelty free and Vegan friendly. I think that this is a premium face cream which performs very well and is well worth a try in my opinion. The price is very reasonable too, given the natural ingredients used and the quality of the product (£18.00 when reviewed, Dec 2024).

The face cream is contained in a simplistic screw top jar. I found the cream thick and a little went along way on application to my face. It’s lightly fragranced which is subtle and non offensive.For me, I generally only use organic products and this met those requirements. it absorbed well but did leave a slight greasy residue although my skin did feel moisturised. It’s too soon to see if it reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. As a general rule, I don’t have sensitive skin and this product caused no irritation or redness.At 30.00 at time of review, I think this is competitively priced considering the organic ingredients, size and moisturising properties.

Pros: Lovely consistency, melts straight into the skin. Seems to form a barrier, I've recently learned my super dry skin needs a barrier to keep spots from forming and so far my products are working a treat for me. To me this seems to have a good price point for quantity and affordable.Cons: Is fragranced, personally, I like the smell. Product says range of minerals and vitamins: I'd really be interested in knowing what those are. I can't tell that from the ingredients list and I do think if it is a claim it should be easily identified by the consumer.Overall: I really liked how it is made 'locally', I wished there was a little leaflet with it. I couldn't read the writing on the box with my regular reading glasses. With that I have two options, photograph it and zoom in, or read them here on Amazon.

This face cream arrives in a lovely box and is well presented. It's quite a small jar though and I found the opening a bit too small to get my fingers in to get the cream out. It would probably be better if the jar was a little shorter, but wider. Unfortunately, I also wasn't keen on the smell. It wasn't bad and I can't place what the smell is (not seaweed!), but it didn't appeal to me.Apart from these small niggles, the cream feels nice and is readily absorbed into the skin, leaving it feeling smooth and hydrated. It wasn't greasy at all and the effect seemed to last most of the day, so I was really pleased with how it worked.Overall, it's a good daytime cream and I'm sure most people would be OK with the smell. Also, as it seemed to disappear not too long after application, it's something I'm willing to trade for the positive effect it has on my skin.

When I first opened the tub I was drawn to the visual texture. I'm not sure if some air caused a bit of splatter during filling, but the visual look was more one of whipped butter cream and 'looked' like it might be grainy in texture. The cream also didn't appear, on first glance, to be properly emulsified neither... HOWEVER...Thankfully, it was just air and a 'bad fill' because the texture is silky, and skin absorbs it both evenly & quickly. The very top of the emulsion was granular and like whipped cream, but beneath this laid a thicker 'creamier but not creamy' W/O emulsification - with lots of active botanicals - that has a definite and distinct aroma.I'm only on day two of using this cream so I cannot review results just yet, I will come back at a later date and update this review.However, there is something I really dislike... the aroma/perfume/smell of this moisturiser. It's not on the pleasant side, for me, and has a faint-but-lingering 'dampness' whiff to it too. I find that off-putting at the moment. Maybe, I'll adjust & accept it but I'm not sure. If the formulator were to add in a natural aroma enhancer via some essential oil, for example, then this product could smell a whole lot more appealing.My usage results/updates will be posted below, if and when they are apt to add.

This face cream was acquired for my wife. Its a very small tub, with 30g so for the price isn't too unreasonable for a good quality natural cream. It comes in a small box and the jar has a screw lid. Theres no best before date and it originates from Scotland.It has that characteristic rose based perfume, that I personally don't care for, but my wife really likes it. The perfume isn't as strong as others I've smelt, but is noticeable.The cream applied nicely and absorbed well with no greasiness. You don't need much so it should last a while despite the small quantity. My wife hasn't experienced any problems with it since applying it and is very happy with it. We will see if the seaweed brings any noticeable benefits to her skin.

This is premium product. Like the scent not too strong and easy on your skin - absorbs it instantly. Good ingredients, although this is a small pot with a high price tag.

I adore the strong beautiful scents this brand has in their skincare, everything smells so good as does this one.
The texture of the cream is quite thick but beautiful soft and smooth.
It absorbes really nicely into the skin.
If you haven't tried Dianadrummond products before and love luxurious skincare, I certainly recommend trying them out.

My skin absolutely loves this moisturiser. It soaks in immediately and gives you a healthy glow. It also left my skin feeling super soft all day. Definitely recommend. Perfect for all skin types.

Nice enough cream I suppose but nothing special and very small amount for the price. Not something I would buy again.

You hardly need any on your finger. Small pot but will last ages. Really nice around eyes and on lids. Showing results already.

Cream has a strange smell but not sure if that was because lid was loose. Does have a nice texture.

I have immediately tried your seaweed skinfood and it feels superb on my skin. I can actually feel that my skin feels more bouncy on this first application.
Which is quiet simply phenomenal.

I got this cream for someone who told me she has very sensitive skin, and has found many brands unsuitable for her in the past. After trying this cream, she told me there was no irritation and that her skin felt moisturised and healthy.

The Seaweed Skinfood face cream makes my face feel really soft and appears very smooth. There is no greasy build-up and you only need a very small amount. I will buy again.

This cream is very nourishing and moisturising. It feels amazing on the skin and is a perfect cream to use daily. It keeps my skin moisturised all day without reapplying. This seaweed skin food face cream is suitable for all skin types and contains Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Tocopherol, 5 Seaweed extracts.It is a lovely natural product that feels soothing and nourishing on the skin. It is a nice thickness and doesn’t leave a greasy after feel.

Seaweed seems to be great for everything and this left my skin feeling very soft and bright which I’m very pleased with and would highly recommend it.

This cream feels really beautiful on the skin and sinks in really well. It has quite a strong scent, which I find pleasantly herbal/medicinal, but others may think is too strong. I use it at night and find my skin is very hydrated in the morning!

My wife has been using this Scottish face cream for a couple of weeks and has found it slightly unusual but of good quality. This Diana Drummond Ltd, Seaweed Organics brand face cream is made in Scotland by The Beauty of Edinburgh and contains five seaweed extracts – Dulce, Bladder Wrack, Irish Moss, Egg Wrack & Kombu Kelp – plus Rosa Damascena Flower, Rose Hip Oil & Jojoba Seed Oil. This moisturising cream ticks the right boxes in production and is cruelty-free & vegan friendly. Currently thirty pounds from Amazon for a 60g pot my wife likes this seaweed-based skin cream and might buy it again. However, she did find some other seaweed creams were less expensive – but might not be of the same high quality – four stars at the price.

This seaweed skin food face cream comes in a pot, inside a manufacturer box. The cream has a fairly thick consistency (it's not runny) and is a creamy, off-white colour.The texture was not something I immediately found appealing. This initially seemed really odd, unpleasantly gelatinous, on scooping a bit out of the pot (rather than buttery as described) but actually once I started to rub it in to my face, I found it quite nice. It's definitely hydrating, but not too heavy or oily and absorbs well on my generally fairly moist combination skin, which has a tendency to T-zone greasiness. On my skin, at least, a little of this goes a long way, so the pot should last well.Vegan-friendly, cruelty free, and made in the UK.

I’m always interested in a new face cream, and I was particularly drawn to this one that is vegan and cruelty free.The jar is quite nice, looks like something you’d find in a spa. And the smell actually matches that. I expected almost a sea-side smell due to the seaweed, but actually it’s quite a subtle smell and reminds me of being in a spa (who doesn’t love the smell of being in a spa).Consistency is actually really thick when you first touch it, but actually goes across your face very smoothly without clogging at all. Thankfully, a little does go a long way.Skin feels nice and soft with a slight healthy shine under my make up. Wouldn’t be able to comment on any age elements like fine lines as I find creams never truly work for that so I don’t have any expectations.Currently priced at £30 seems on par with what you’d expect to find for a lovely organic face cream that does feel soft on your skin.Overall have been impressed so far, with no side effects experienced. Happy to recommend.
