This ginger shampoo bar is just gorgeous. It lathers well, rinses easily and leaves my hair beautifully soft. I love that this shampoo bar is made with natural ingredients, and it's great for the environment too since it comes in minimal waste packaging. It's perfect for anyone who wants to reduce their plastic use which is why I chose to change to a shampoo bar instead, I was fed up with all the plastic bottles.The smell is zingy and cosy. Only time will tell if it lasts as long as a similar priced bottle of shampoo, but as long as it's fairly close, I'd still prefer a bar to a bottle, for environmental (and space saving!) concerns.

My hair is normally "normal" (non-greasy) but does sometimes feel a bit itchy, so perhaps the fact that this is more for greasy/itchy hair means it's not really aimed at my scalp/hair type.

The smell is very subtle, which might be a pro or a con depending on your preference. Compared to other shampoo bars it doesn't make my scalp itchy, which is great. Also lathers up nicely.The only downside is that it makes my hair felt a little waxy, this seems to resolve once the hair is dry but I notice it while in the shower even after I've put in conditioner, and it isn't a particularly pleasant sensation!Not my favourite shampoo bar that I've tried (I really like EarthKind - that brand is the closest I've found to replicating results that you get with 'normal' shampoo). At the time of writing this Scottish Botanicals Witch Hazel shampoo bar is £12.50 which puts it at the higher end of the scale for similar products. I will continue to use this but I probably wouldn't purchase it again.

smells good and overall the quality of the soap is good. If you like strong-scented shampoo bars - this might be for you. It smells natural, healthy and refreshing. Plus, it does a good job as a shampoo bar.

I prefer shampoo bars as they mean less plastic to clog up the planet, they are easier to store and take up less space in the shower. This bar is a nice size, chunky and should last a decent time, it is not easy to use too much as it is for bottles. It lathers nicely and cleans my hair well. It is certainly a ginger scent, although I find it a little too earthy, but as it is natural I can live with it. Over the last year or so I've been trying to cut back on using a lot of chemicals in my soaps and shampoos and having already tried Diana Drummond soaps before was keen to try this.The shampoo soap is well made and a nice decent size. It's got a nice subtle fragrance which becomes more apparent in use. I find it lathers up well and leaves my hair lovely and clean after use. I really like that it's made locally after this is used up plan to try others in the same range. Overall I'm really happy with this.

This left my hair squeaky clean, and certainly stripped any dirt and product from it. I think I'd use it once a week, as a deep cleanse in between using my usual shampoos. My hair was more shiny than usual after using it, and didn't seem particularly dry, which surprised me. My scalp felt very cleansed as well, but not dry or itchy. I shampooed and then repeated when I used this bar and it lathered up better on the 2nd go. I couldn't really detect any scent but that doesn't bother me.

As someone living in Glasgow I love to support local Scottish suppliers and this is a pip of a product. I've been using Shampoo bars for a while now and I really like their longevity and once you get used to the concept they are brilliant. This bar is super and my hair felt squeeky clean, literally, after using it - a nice zesty fragrance and the bar is a good size to hold. It lathered up enough (bars never lather THAT much), but this generated enough bubbles to make it comfy to use on my hair. My hair is coloured and therefore very dry so although I loved this bars' cleansing properties I do need something that is probably a bit more moisturising so I'd use this on a weekly basis to get hair clean and remove a build up of styling products, and use my more moisturising bar for the rest of the time - however for my kids (with regular hair and no dryness) its absolutely perfect for them. The price point is about right for a good quality hand made shampoo bar - it feels expensive but they last for ages if you dry them out after every use and don't let them go mushy ! An easy five stars.

Recently I've found that traditional shampoo leaves my scalp feeling dry as I think a lot of them contain too many chemicals. I also love witch hazel and have used it almost daily since I was young, so thought this is a perfect combination.The shampoo bars looks nice and has a lovely subtle fragrance which is not overpowering. I've found it easy and good to lather up, and lovely to wash my hair with. Afterwards my hair feels lovely and soft. I also love that the soap is made locally with natural ingredients. Once this is finished I'll be looking to try more from the range. Recommended.

I like using shampoo bars because they are much better for the environment. I love the smell of ginger and this bar is definitely gingery. I have curly hair so am pleased that there are no parabens. It lathers easily and leaves hair squeaky clean. A lovely product.

What you see in their photos is what you get. I have been using Faith in Nature's shampoo bar, it's similar, no parabens or SLS, etc, but when I saw this and the Ginger alongside all the other lovely list of ingredients I had to order it. I have newly permed hair (two weeks ago), which I can't wash too often, just turns to frizz, so I need a a good quality shampoo. This one has Olive, Caster, Coconut and Shea as it's main ingredients, ideal for my perm. I tried it, with no conditioner, to see how it faired and I have to say it felt 'squeaky' clean after washing - I rubbed the bar over my head, and on my hands, there was no visible lather, which doesn't bother me as my Faith in Nature soap is the same/no lather, this one seemed to wash out easily and quickly, my hair felt soft and bouncy, my hair does take a long time to air dry, but when it was finally dry, I felt like I should apply leave in conditioner as the perm had gone a bit frizzy, but I resisted. A few hours later, my hair felt like it needed another wash, it just didn't feel like all the soap had gone, it really was a weird feeling, like there was a slightly tacky residue, it seems to have added quite a bit of volume to my hair, which I liked, but I just don't like the feeling a few hours later, that it needs another wash... I expect different hair types will experience this product differently, for me, it doesn't seem to suit my permed coloured hair. A real shame as I love the concept. Price at the time of this review was £13.

I have used soap bars of various kinds for a while to help reduce my plastic packaging use and this is my favourite shampoo bar. It' packed only in a cardboard box which ticks the packaging box, has a subtle and pleasant smell and does a great job cleaning hair. It's a substantial cube that lathers up nicely to let you rub the shampoo well into the hair, then washes out easily leaving hair clean and soft. It will last for ages too.

It lathers really well, doesn't have an overbearing scent and is pleasant to use.It's easy to carry and a handy size for travel, but the easy-to-pack cuboidal shape isn't the most comfortable for rubbing on the scalp.

I've never used a shampoo bar before so was wondering, do you lather it up in your hands like a soap? Well, no, I used it directly on my hair and it lathered up really well. I've had little to no itching of my scalp. The shampoo left my hair feeling quite soft so I'm happy with it! There is only a slight scent and it's all natural, so an excellent gift idea.

I love ginger shampoo as my scalp seems to like it. This smells quite strong in the bar but I found the scent left on my hair is quite gentle. This is a lovely big shampoo bar, so makes the £13 price tag a bit more palatable. I’m more used to smaller bars that are a little rounder and easier to handle, so I do find this a little unwieldy. Lathers well and good coverage over your hair. You certainly will feel the difference between this and regular shampoo when you come to rinse as your hair as you get such a clean feeling.

He washes his hair every day so gets through a lot of shampoo but this bar will last much longer than a bottle of shampoo and takes up less space. There is no risk of bottles leaking either. This chunky bar will replace hundreds of millilitres of shampoo which means a considerable reduction in plastic waste.It’s very simply packaged in a cardboard box. The smell of ginger is pleasant and I didn’t find it overly strong but it is the only scent I was able to detect despite there being other essential oils included.

I love solid shampoo bars for their convenience and "green" credentials. As someone who suffers with greasy hair and who has very fine hair, anything that helps with this is always welcome but I often feel disappointed with products that claim to help.This shampoo bar lathers easily and produced a great set of suds. The scent is light, not at all the smell that I was expecting (recalling days of witch hazel being used in a school medical room!) - it was very pleasant. After rinsing my hair was literally squeeky clean.When dry my hair looked great. It didn't frizz and the next day I could have got away without washing it - a rare occurrence.I find that solid bars tend to last longer than liquid shampoos and so the price feels about right. I'll update if I find that this bar doesn't last as I expect (it might not due to the great lather?) Let's see!
