Rub the shampoo bar directly onto your scalp and hair, starting from the roots and working towards the ends. Focus on the scalp, as that’s where most of the oils and dirt accumulate.

This shampoo bar is a decent size, which is always a plus. It has a subtle scent that's not overpowering, and it lathers up nicely. I also like that it holds its shape well – some bars can get a bit melty in the shower, but this one stays firm. However, I found that it left my hair feeling a bit dry. My hair is usually pretty normal, so I think this bar might be better suited for someone with greasy scalps.Overall, it's a decent product, but probably not the best choice for my hair type.
The invigorating Ginger Shampoo Bar is crafted to stimulate and refresh your scalp while providing a deep cleansing experience. This vegan formulation is cruelty-free and contains no harsh sulfates or parabens, making it gentle on your hair and the environment. Handmade in the UK with care, each bar weighs 110g and incorporates the finest Scottish botanicals, ensuring a nourishing and revitalizing wash for your hair. Embrace the natural power of ginger for beautifully clean and vibrant locks!
I'm a big fan of these solid shampoos. Just rub it against your head and it foams up like any other shampoo. It feels like it does a very good job cleaning my hair and hasn't left me feeling dry or anything. I like the way it smells too, it's a nice natural seeming, subtle scent.
This is a good sized shampoo bar. It has a mild scent and lathers well. It keeps it's shape after use and doesn't "melt" as some similar bars I've used in the past occasionally do.I did find this one left my hair feeling rather dry after use, requiring the use of conditioner. My hair is normally "normal" (non-greasy) but does sometimes feel a bit itchy, so perhaps the fact that this is more for greasy/itchy hair means it's not really aimed at my scalp/hair type.
This solid shampoo bar has a lovely smooth, creamy texture that works into a soft, rich lather. It cleanses thoroughly, lifting away product build-up and dust without stripping the scalp of its natural moisture or leaving hair feeling paper-dry.I love that it has plant-derived formula, packed with vitamins and minerals. The inclusion of olive oil, shea butter, and coconut oil seems to provide deep nourishment, helping to moisturise and condition the hair. It has been especially suitable for my dry, bleached hair, leaving it feeling soft and manageable rather than straw-like. I have also found it has a soothing effect on my scalp. The fragrance is very subtle, with a faint citrusy note that is almost unnoticeable – which I actually prefer. I like light, natural scents, especially when they avoid synthetic perfumes entirely.Another bonus is its longevity. After two weeks of use, the bar has barely reduced in size, so it looks like it will last a good while.Plus, being a solid bar, it is also eco-friendly, helping to reduce plastic waste, and it is perfect for travel. All in all, this shampoo bar leaves my hair clean, soft, and naturally shiny without any heaviness. Its gentle, nourishing formula makes it comfortable for frequent use, even on sensitive scalps. I would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a more thoughtful alternative to bottled shampoo.
This is a good sized shampoo bar. It has a mild scent and lathers well. It keeps it's shape after use and doesn't "melt" as some similar bars I've used in the past occasionally do.After use it did feel like it left a "waxy" feel to my hair, however, once dried my hair was smooth and soft.I liked this bar. Only time will tell if it lasts as long as a similar priced bottle of shampoo, but as long as it's fairly close, I'd still prefer a bar to a bottle, for environmental (and space saving!) concerns.
This has left my hair feeling nice and clean, and didn't take a lot of effort to lather. It has a nice natural seeming, subtle scent. It rinses off well without leaving any residue. I much prefer this to liquid shampoo and it seems more environmentally friendly with no bottle. The packaging was very nice and tidy too so it might make a nice stocking filler for a hippy.
Yay! A shampoo bar that is good! Shampoo bars tend to involve fewer plastics in packaging, and also tend to last quite a few washes given their volume - after all, you're adding the water component in the shower, rather than carrying it in the container, so you're getting more actual product per unit volume. So, finding a good one can be great news. This is a good one. I like that the scent is extremely delicate - it means more control, as favourite fragrances will not clash with the cleaning product. It lathers nicely and washes well. It's fairly gentle - I have had no reaction to it - but it leaves the hair and scalp feeling properly clean. Definitely want to follow this one with a conditioner. It seems expensive - and there are cheaper bars around - but per wash it's much cheaper than a traditional shampoo.

It lathers nicely and washes well. It's fairly gentle - I have had no reaction to it, but I also will need to top up every now and then with a medicated shampoo to relieve itchiness, as this is too gentle to sort that out for me.It seems expensive - and there are cheaper bars around - but per wash it's much cheaper than a traditional shampoo.
The smell is very subtle, which might be a pro or a con depending on your preference. Compared to other shampoo bars it doesn't make my scalp itchy, which is great. Also lathers up nicely. The only downside is that it makes my hair felt a little waxy, this seems to resolve once the hair is dry but I notice it while in the shower even after I've put in conditioner, and it isn't a particularly pleasant sensation! Not my favourite shampoo bar that I've tried (I really like EarthKind - that brand is the closest I've found to replicating results that you get with 'normal' shampoo). At the time of writing this Scottish Botanicals Witch Hazel shampoo bar is £12.50 which puts it at the higher end of the scale for similar products. I will continue to use this but I probably wouldn't purchase it again.
